Sea-view apartment

A sea-facing apartment, rich in history and light, yet frozen in an aesthetic that no longer reflected the way our clients wanted to live. Ochre yellow walls, dark parquet floors, an eighties kitchen, heavy-feeling bathrooms: every room told decades of life, but the time had come for a deep transformation. The challenge was to restore brightness and a contemporary feel to a generous space, while preserving those elements of character worth keeping. The large black stone wall in the living room, always loved by the clients, became the starting point of the new project, today enhanced by the contrast with the light oak flooring, full-height natural linen curtains with a backlit pelmet, and a modular bookcase with bronze uprights. The windows, freed from every obstruction, frame the sea and the palm trees like a painting always in motion.

The kitchen was completely demolished and rebuilt: petrol green cabinet doors, a central island with a matte black top, a ceiling-mounted hood, and natural wood inserts to warm the palette. A sliding glass door separates it elegantly from the rest of the living areas. For the sleeping area we designed full-height white bespoke wardrobes and a discreet, enveloping recessed lighting system. Each bedroom found its own identity, including a more playful space with white and sage green striped walls.

The bathrooms were each conceived with a distinct character. The master bathroom features large-slab beige travertino cladding, a double stone-integrated sink and brushed gold taps; a ribbed green ceramic accent wall echoes the green marble of the corridor, itself a design feature with its golden wall lights. The challenge here was rethinking the layout to fit a double shower. The second bathroom plays with tone-on-tone relief tiles and an organically shaped mirror. The third surprises with a patterned cement tile floor and a red coral mosaic shower tray, an unexpected detail that speaks to the personality of those who live there.

The scope of work was total. From the electrical and plumbing systems completely rebuilt beneath the screed, to the false ceilings and redesigned interior partitions: every phase was coordinated to ensure reliable timelines and a coherent result from start to finish.

A project that transformed a well-lived-in apartment into a home of the highest standard, without losing any of its soul overlooking the sea.
